Team Pete - Sanna Handslip

Created by Sanna one year ago
My strongest memories of Pete are of the laughs we shared when Pete, Nat, Linds, Ben and I lived together in our 4th year student house, studying for our finals. Pete was rowing for the lightweights, always up early, studying late and returning from the shop with bags of pasta and Dolmio sauces - and our house resounded with happiness. Pete had a huge sense of fun - and the most infectious laugh - when Pete laughed you knew that moment would become a special memory.

In less care free times, when we had all moved to London and were sometimes struggling with our first years in the big wide world, my memory is of Pete – always smiling, offering reassurance, taking the time to listen. In our shared house near the river in Putney, life was exciting, but often bewildering. With his huge capacity for kindness, his moral compass and his integrity – Pete was our rock.

Later in life, when Pete had moved to Brighton, and Jonnie and I went to visit him in his flat, my memory is of Pete’s wisdom, care and love. Pete never judged. He saw the good in everyone and always put others before himself. He was a true friend to us all and the kindest person we will probably ever know.
