Pete was the most lovely, most genuine, nicest person in our year in New College, full of fun and energy. He had an incredible smile and infectious laugh.  It was fantastic to see Pete’s rowing go from strength to strength at New College. He became such a key part of NCBC, and I always enjoyed coxing him in the 1st VIII (1996), and coaching novices alongside him.  He was the loveliest member in any crew – always positive, always a team player, always wanting to learn, and always giving the impression that he genuinely felt lucky to be there.  We were the lucky ones to know him.
 
It will be a privilege to get back in an VIII after so many years in Pete’s honour.  That smile would be beaming.
